Whoops!!

Deary Deary Me.

Sitting in the garden the other Sunday around 1pm and all of a sudden there was this almighty crash and bang.

Can you believe what your seeing, the front of next doors house just fell off, yep just fell off!!! Cardboard houses and Harrods prices!!

Baking Bar B Q

Well we finally gave in last week and bought a gas bar b q, a friend told us of a bargain she found and I talked Mum into it and we went a purchased it. Craig came round a put it all together for us, what a star he is!!!

Mand came over with Owen Charles and John, Ruth bought her 3 and Sophie bought our 2, Sophie and I did all the cooking, without one cross word I might had and we had a fantastic day. The weather was 30 degrees, it was like being in California.

The only downside to a bar b q of course is the blinking washing of it, guess who did that? Can't wait for the weather to pick up again to crank the thing up again, it's the only way to eat if you ask me.

Come Dine with Abi

So after re uniting with a couple of old pals I decided us girls should have a girly night and a catch up, so I invited the gals round for a bite to eat.

Sarah the P.A decided she would do a menu for us and named the night "Come dine with Abi" after the TV show, lol.

The night went fantastically and we all really enjoyed it, the food (in my opinion) was pretty darn good as well, lol.

Well what a hoot, when it came to the end of the meal the girls sat me down and then scored me, Sarah (the P.A) had made score cards, it was hysterical I can tell you and I scored pretty well really. There were a couple of awkward buggers who couldn't eat certain things of course, (how rude, lol!) I did replace what the couldn't eat with quality food though.

I have to say I had a fabulous night and enjoyed all there company and look forward to doing it again.

School Reunion

So on Saturday night it was my 20 year ( yes I know your shocked!!)school reunion. I tried to avoid the camera as much as I could and when it did catch up with my tried to do the turkey to disguise my double chin lol. It ended up being a good night and I rekindled an old friendship which I am really pleased about.

So back to the old stuff............

I was a bit gutted last Thursday when I went to the slimming club, I'd worked hard again at it apart from the walking and the gym I have to admit, I've pulled a muscle in my back, it's what I though was a chill in my kidneys but seems to be a pull, so I'm not going to aggravate it but as soon as it's better I will be back on track with the fitness I promise. So as I said I was gutted I'd lost nothing as I'd worked so hard, so let's hope it's only even a pound this week, I did break the rules a bit at the reunion but not much and I've been good since, so if it's not a pound I'm going to amputate and arm or something, lol.

So guys better luck this week let's hope, keep everything crossed for me on Thursday please? xxx

Whoop Whoop!!!!!!!!!!!

So here we go guys, my latest update..............................

FOUR AND A HALF POUNDS that's 4.5lbs yes FOUR AND A HALF POUNDS!!!!

Heck I am proud of myself I really am, I knew I was doing good but didn't think for one minute I would lose that much in one week.

So I wonder how much I will lose this week, doing yet another long week and two 13 hour days back to back, I must be a mug.

Bit stressed out at the moment though but I AM NOT GOING TO EAT!!!! Manny can't drive at the moment because his licence has run out and he can't get a lift to work, people aren't very caring nowadays are they? He's hoping to go to the States next weekend but we have found out that now he's a British Citizen we don't think he can have an American licence anymore, he's going to look into it, but he needs to see his Family as well. I'm afraid we are just going to have to get him through his British driving test, it's the theory that stumps him, heck it stumps me and I've been driving for 20 years, lol.

Update.............

Well hello there guys and gals. Okay then, so my last blog was all about my new trainers. I have to say I love them but I have had a few probs with them to start with. As I said I have never warn a pair of trainers in my life and these Nike ones proper running trainers. I went for my walk as per usual and wore them and about two thirds of the way around they started to rub my ankles, OMG I limped home like a wounded soldier, lol, so unfortunately I couldn't go for a walk for a couple of days because my old Skechers that I wore before were even catching me.

The gym well there's another story, lol. I'm not brave enough to go on my own yet when it's busy and with work I haven't had a chance to go, I did manage the other day and got there and had forgot my locker lock and had my purse and everything with me and wasn't going to risk just leaving it all in there, it stressed me out a bit so I just came home, so I'm afraid to say I haven't been to the gym in the last week, naughty naughty I know,lol. Anyway I donned my thick sox and plasters on my heals and went out for my walk again Friday night and with the extra cushioning on my heals and chatting to my pal Bee on the phone for the full half a hour, lol, I felt no pain and a lot of gain!!!

I keep cooking different things to eat, I am doing a lot of stir fries with low cal spray oil and lots of veg and chicken and also make a spaghetti bolognese from scratch with quorn, I am trying to avoid to much red meat as it's full of saturated fat.

I'm being really good as well, I'm emptying the store cupboard at home, when I go to the States I always buy a packet corn muffing mix because you can't get it over here and I love it, well I baked the last 2 packets on Friday and took it into work for the customers, they thoroughly enjoyed it. Mum and Lauren baked chocolate butterfly cakes as well on Saturday and I took the excess to work as well, the greedy buggers ate the lot, lol.

Well it's a tough week at work this week, I'm doing 50 hours, we have 2 people off on holiday so there's only Karl, Me and Paul to hold the fort, it is going to be a good week though, we all 3 get on really well and have a laugh, luckily they don't eat like pigs either so I don't get led astray by either of them.

Lord only know if I'm going to get to go to the gym either this week, it's a bit annoying that I can't seem to get there, but when I'm a bit braver and fitter I won't mind going on my Jack at all. I will definitely get a couple of walks in though I promise.

I've been laid up today, think I've had a bit of a chill in my kidneys, think it's my own fault, when I go for a walk I wear my big winter coat but only a tee shirt underneath and think a draft has caught me. I felt dodgy at work yesterday and blamed it on the naff chairs but when I woke up this morning in agony I guessed it was a chill, so I filled the hot water bottle to boiling point and I think I've burnt the chill away, still a bit sore but a lot better than I was this morning, Karl will be relieved!!!

Sophie my Dear little Sister is back in hospital tomorrow, she's having a really rough time at the moments, she's going in for yet another lumber puncture and to top it all the Doctor has been overdosing her on her medication, no wonder the pins and needles have been worse than normal. Good luck Bab I love you!!!

It's weigh in Thursday morning, I do hope I've lost some, I feel I have and should have considering how good I've been? Wish me luck..........

So tonight I joined Weightwatchers, it helped knowing Michelle the leader, we went to school together and I have to say she looks as young and as gorgeous as me just a lot slimmer, lol

I have to say I have had a bit of a bad day today, had a problem at work last night, to anyone who knows me and work you all know what I'm on about! So I had a rough night and got a bit stressed out again and just couldn't face work felt sick at the thought of it. I did promise Mum I would go to the gym with her today but never made it, my neck was all tensed up and my back sore and just couldn't do it. Tomorrow is another day though and back to work and onwards and upwards, if I don't get to go to the gym I will definitely do my walk, as you know I've had my Nike's and am dying to christen them, lol.

For anyone who hasn't met my baby yet.............

Just thought I would post a few picture of my little Angel......... He had been left on his own in a shed near my Sisters house and I couldn't leave him there, believe it or not I don't actually like cats always been a dog girl, but I just love him, he's the best birthday present I've ever had. My Sister asked me if I wanted a cat for my Birthday and I said no then my Nephew came home with him in his arms, how could I resist! This first picture is the first day we had him, he hadn't got a clue what was going on and was so nervous. As you can see he is now huge, and I mean huge, he's only 9 months and towers above next doors 6 year old ginger tom, lol.

His name is William, I call him my little Willy, lol

For some reason he likes the shower, lol.

So there you have it I'm going to blog about my progress on my health kick and weight loss. If I do it every few days and do successfully in it all then I can look back and be proud of myself and hopefully you all will to? Some of my friends, you know who you are....lol... (Alison) don't do facebook so don't know anything about what I'm up to because I have been trying to get her to join but she won't so this is also for you Al.

I went to see the gynaecologist on January 4 and she read me the riot act, I have had problems for years and years now and they just don't seem to be getting any better. Mercy she took no mercy lol, she told me exactly what I am doing to my body by not looking after myself and my diabetes, she was just like the Maggie Thatcher of gynaecology and some people would have been offended but she did me the biggest favour of my life. Anyone who knows me knows that 2009 wasn't the easiest of years for me, mainly my own doing of course but this year is the start of the Millennium for me, I know 10 years late but better late than never, lol.

Right so here's what's been happening be prepared for a shock....

I go for a walk every other day for 30 minutes as briskly as I can, and I am proud to say I am getting a little faster each time, I have my ipod blaring rock music and I pace away up a bit of an incline to start then down a bit then up a bit of an incline again, I'm not overdoing it or else I will start to hate it and we don't want that do we?! lol

I started at the gym last week, yes that's right the gym, I've only been twice so far, it's a bit difficult with work and I won't go when it's busy there, but the guy there has worked out a programme for me and I do some time on the treadmill, a few mins on the cross trainer (that is one evil machine), then the exercise bike and a cool down on the treadmill. I only do about half an hour but I think it's enough for a start and then I will work up to a bit more as time goes on.

I'm also cutting down a lot and I haven't had any chocolate since New Years Day, oh I've had a couple of Skinny Cow hot chocolates, it feeds my craving and isn't as bad for me as bars of chocolate, lol.

So now for the progress report since January 4. Well in my first 2 weeks I lost NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, I was really upset about it so I have taken drastic action this last week. I have stopped eating red meat, it's chicken all the way for me or Quorn mince, I'll have red meat once a week but it's so high in saturated fat it's best not to have too much of it.

Righty hoh, there you have it, the Abi Guinto health & fitness get thin in a year regime, January 1st 2011 you'll see a new me I can promise you!!!

I hope you are all going to support me, it'll help no end and I thank those who already are and those who will in advance.

Good Old English Brekkie

So if you don't know already I'm off work, after our holiday in the States, things just got on top of me with Manny being out of work and having NO money coming in at all apart from my wage which just about covers the bare essentials! I do feel bad that I am off work but as many of you will probably agree family and life comes first your employer pays your wages so you can live not so you can live every waking minute for your employer!



This morning I decided to cook myself a good old English breakfast, as you can see I just throw it on the plate, their is sausage, bacon, baked beans and fried eggs with a side of toast and a nice cup of rosy lee, that's tea to all my dear friends in the States. lol I have to say I thoroughlly enjoyed it and cleaned my plate of course.



Anyway I'm afraid I haven't blogged about my hols and reunion yet, I'm very sorry, facebook does seem to take over a little which is annoying a bit because I think blogging is a little more personal. I will sit down and get one done for you all very very soon I promise.



We have been to the job centre today, the experience was not too bad if I'm honest, they are very nice to you now, not like when I was unemployed many years ago, the bouncer, yes bouncer on the door is lovely and takes you to where you need to go and talks to you about what is going to happen. All this for maybe £65 a week, I guess it's better than nothing but hopefully by the time Manny gets his first job seekers allowance payment he'll be back at work. He really wants to go back to sea, can't say I blame him, he's happiest there and he earns better money doing a job that he enjoys and is good at, so I am looking for him, think I'm going to call Princess to see if he can go back there.

Bless his heart he has just cooked tea for us, he made a chicken pasanda, it's the only curry Mum really likes and he does make it good and adds extra onions, I could live on onions I just lurrv them! lol

A day on the Census

So today I went with T to work, she has to collate addresses for the census. She has a hand held thingy device which she inputs the address into then she has to map the address on it, as close to the front door as possible, which is difficult when you are working in the Beverly Hills of the area and all the properties are gated. So I drove and she jumped in and out of the car, lol, we got the job done in 1 half hours instead of 3, it's great having a chauffeur when your doing a census, lol

So this house at the top of this hill I just fell in love with, do you think we could afford it on Manny's credit card?

I did get out or the car just the once to have my piccie taken in front of this glorious view. lol

I'M HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks it's finally arrived, for those who didn't know I'm on hols in California again with my bestest buddy ever TLC. Manny has been laid of work for a short while we hope so he has gone off to his Sisters in Houston, Texas and I'm here in Murrieta.

As you can see from the picture, I fed my addiction pretty much straight away and we went to Brighton, I think we are going to buy one of the picture frames in the background to put one or our cute pictures of the two of us together in, lol. T and I are like peas in a pod, it is so weird, we are completely different in a lot of ways but so close and I know will always will be, I would go to the end of the earth to help her out if she was ever in trouble and I know she would for me. She has a new beau, he is very sweet and attentive, we all need a little attention from time to time don't we gals!

So when I landed in San Diego of course we went and ate first at Denny's, you can't beat a brekkie any time of the day, then we stayed up talking till 2.30am, wow was I tired still am really, but had a good 8 hours last night.

Then we went to the mall, not quite as good as Victoria Gardens in Rancho but has the same shops so I'll be happy and the good thing is I can't walk there so perhaps I may behave myself a little better this time, especially with the exchange rate being as bad is it is. We met T's guy in Red Robin and I had the chicken burger and onion rings, wow their food is to die for, and here's me supposed to be getting healthy, lol. Then we went to Brighton and spent a little money, you know what my little is like, so you can imagine, lol.

Then we went to visit Kimi and Chris and the kids, CJ and Maya are such lovely kids and so well behaved, Kimi and Chris are doing a great job with them, 2 beautiful children to be proud of. They have a new dog called Lena, she is a cross between something and a Lab, you know my weakness for dogs and especially Labs, I do miss my girls. She is such a lovely girl I didn't want to leave her, I could bring her home with me.

So T cooked dinner last night, Kimi's recipe for meatloaf, it was absolutely gorgeous, I am going to make cauliflower cheese for them all, they have never had it and it is my favourite.

So it's 7.30am and T has only 3 hours work today she thinks, which is a shame in one way but in another good because then I get to spend more time with her, I miss her so much when we are apart. I feel so relaxed over here and so at home, I am convinced that whoever gave birth to me was American so I am half, lol. Roll on the day we can move here, I just know that it will be the best thing ever for Manny and me.

So folks keep an eye on my old Bloggy, it'll be getting loads of pictures I'm sure, especially when we are in Vegas, can't tell you how excited we are about that.

Mother's Day in Blighty

So as you've probably guessed it's Mother's Day here in England.

We usually go out for lunch but decided this year that we would cook Mum lunch at home instead. Well I say we decided I put the idea to my Sister and she agreed but then had to go somewhere so it was down to me. Of course this plan was in the week and today turned out completely different, lol.



Our oven gave up the will to live last week so we are currently waiting for the new one which arrives tomorrow thank goodness, so we have been using the most fantastic invention, the Halogen oven.




One of Mum's specialities is a trifle so she made one last night, OMG it was divine, only had one spoon though as I'm seeing a health trainer now, yes a health trainer, we don't say the D word in this house, we are not on a D we are eating healthy.





Mum did some roasted carrots, courgettes and onions in the oven first, then put the pork in it, it turned out so tender. I peeled the potatoes and sliced the cabbage and away we went.......


So the Mothers day feast was on the go, OK I know Mum did some of it as well, she likes to be in charge in her own kitchen, but she always leaves the mashed potatoes to me, they are my speciality after all, nice and creamy!





We sat down and really enjoyed our meal, just Mum, Sophie, Manny and Me, the kids are at there Dad's house. It's only just now that I am doing this that I have remembered WE FORGOT THE ROASTED VEG!!!! Hecky thump, lol.

We really enjoyed our Mother's day lunch, we always enjoy a family meal together. I bought Mum 3 lovely Lavender plants for her garden as she is in the process of getting it ready again for Summer, Sophie got her some forrero rocher and a nice china mug, so all in all a lovely day was had by all. I wonder what the kids have got for Sophie, no I don't I know what it is and I know where it is hidden, she just has to wait until they get back from there Dad's, lol!!!

ONLY 4 WEEKS TILL T'S AND 5 WEEKS TILL VEGAS!!!!!

Quick update, nothing special.

So the snow is nearly gone around here, some parts of the UK have been in a terrible state, people getting stranded in cars all over the place and being rescued by the army.

Well it's my Man's birthday on Monday, 21 again, we have just been out for a lovely meal with Mum and Sophie, Mum's treat to us for his birthday.

I am so excited about going over to the States in April, can't wait to see Tracy again and the reunion in Vegas will be a blast I am sure. Love Manny for letting me go he is a good one, thank goodness for credit cards that's all I can say, let's hope I can get some overtime to pay for my extravagances! lol

So my dear friends if you have any money making schemes keep me in mind I could do with a few extra quid!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

How exciting, with all this global warming I never thought I would get to see snow like this again in England, it is lovely that the kids are getting to see it aswell. This is the heaviest snow we have had in this country in 18 years, yes 18 years that means I was the tender age of 18 last time it snowed like this and I'm getting that old I can't even remember it.

Snowmen are popping up all over the place, kids are skidding around and getting soaked through and loving every minute of it. It hasn't stopped snowing all night and it's 1.10pm now and it's still going, they estimate another 2.5 cm over the day and then again tonight, but by then it will be freezing and lethal. I have no plans to go anywhere today, Manny has just come back in from work the weather is too bad for them to work so his 5.30am start was a waste of time, never mind at least he's home safe, accidents happen a lot in this weather with some of the fools out on the roads, it's always a worry.

I bet it is gorgeous down at the old Churchdale Cottage, I do miss that old house and when the weather was like this it was fantastic. Dad built us a sledge one year and the canal was frozen over so we had hours of fun skidding up and down it. Oh the good old days, I'm not going to get all sentimental just going to remember what a fantastic childhood Sophie and I had and how lucky we were to have parents that devoted every waking hour to us, and of course Mum still does, don't know how she does it, we are still both demanding and we've got Manny, Jordan and Lauren too.

So enjoy the snow piccies it will probably be the last ones I ever take in good old Blighty.

YES I am still alive! lol

Well Hello to you all and so sorry it's been such a long time, doesn't work get in the way of life eh? lol

I do hope you are all OK and surviving this blooming recession, what a pain it is, I'm having to think twice about my shopping on QVC but don't panic I am managing to treat myself once a week at least. lol

So what's been happening here then, well I can tell you NOT A LOT!!! We had a lovely Christmas at home, nice and quiet with the family, the kids came over in the afternoon after spending the morning with there Dad and we had a great time opening ALL of there gifts, I certainly don't remember getting that many when I was there age. It is such fun watching children get excited over things.

So I had a couple of weeks of work after Christmas but just hung around doing not a lot which suited me to a tea.

We all went out from work just before Christmas for a curry and a drink, we had such a lovely night it would be nice to do something like that every few weeks, (wink wink nudge nudge Manager!)

Tracy puts her piccies into a slide show which I think is fabulous so I have done the same, hope you like them?

Hopefully I will be able to blog a bit more often now but we shall have to wait and see how exciting life gets. lol

What a night!!!!

So Manny and I went to Jimmy Spices for tea tonight...................

Apart from sitting there in complete silence, Manny is down in the dumps again, the meal was OK.

So we ate our meal and left...................

What a pratt I am, I had grabbed Manny's keys to the car so the key to the crook lock was at home, I never use the flaming thing in Rugeley but decided to tonight.

So there we were in the pouring rain waiting for Green Flag to come and rescue us!!! Don't laugh it wasn't funny at the time. We finally got home at 9.30pm only waited half an hour for the guy, it took him 45 minutes to get the thing off, I gave him a fiver for his trouble, the sweat was pouring off him bless.

So not a boring night after all, it's all in the life of the Lavender-Guinto's, I just wish Manny would realise that and lighten up a bit!!!

Remember me?

Well hello there all and everybody. I know it has been so long since I blogged, but as I said at the very beginning my life at home is pretty boring!!!

So what's been happening with me then...........

I can't really tell you everything, I could get myself into too much trouble and we don't want that do we, but here's all the goss I can divulge............

Work, well that's all I do really apart from eat and sleep. So work is OK really, I have been feeling a little stressed lately with it all but I have a week off now so hopefully I'll calm down a bit. We have a new area manager, well................. what can I say, we have heard nothing good about her and I to be honest am worried sick. We have two deputies in our shop me being the second and we shouldn't have, but our old AM put me there permanently 3 years ago so I ain't going nowhere. I am worried sick this woman is going to decide they don't need me and get rid of me or try and move me. Well a couple of days ago she phoned OMG what a bitch all she did was scream down the phone to our Manager by the sounds of it, OK she was on her mobile in the car but that doesn't excuse her barking do's and dont's down the phone to him. So her big bug bear is spending too much money, so I am more than concerned at the moment to say the least, if I lost my job now we would be in deep doo doo and the only solution would be for Manny to go home we couldn't cope any other way. So please all keep you fingers crossed for me please!!!!!

I wish I could jump on a plane and go see Tracy, friends are supposed to be there for you when you need them and she needs me at the moment, she's been laid off and is very sad at the moment, I would do anything to go and see her and cheer her up!

So my Sister Sophie has moved house, what chaos has it been. She has moved because she was living next to the neighbour from hell and she just couldn't take anymore. The association who owns the house that she lived in would not do anything about this girl next door, even with complaints from all the neighbours in the street so in the end my Sister gave in and moved. The kids and her have been staying here for the week whilst they get the new house straight, they have gone now but we still have the cat Tinker, she can stay though she is so lovely.

Jordan has started High School now, he looks so handsome in his uniform, I must get a picture of him and post it but when he gets home he has taken his tie off and has his collar up, he looks just like Harry Hill it's so funny.

So Manny and I have the week off, bless him he is so exhausted, he is up at 5am and doesn't get home till 7/8pm and is doing a very physical job, I'm a bit worried about him but you know Manny he doesn't talk about things so I just have to guess what's going on. We haven't got anything planned for the week, can't afford to go anywhere so we are going to get a few jobs done round the house for Mum and a bit of gardening hopefully, the weather has turned out quite nice the last couple of days I just hope it last over the week? Mum's in bed with what I call her Boxing day cold, she always used to get a cold on Boxing day after working so hard on the run up to Christmas, that's what having your own business does for you. She had pneumonia when I was 10 very seriously and ever since that whenever she got a slight sniffle my Dad used to freak out, he always forgot what a tough old bird she was but she isn't getting any younger and I'm pretty useless at looking after her, I can't even look after myself very well!!! lol. Why can't we just have a little win on the lottery and get ourselves straight eh, I would send Mum on a World Cruise, gosh I'd probably go with her, I'd sort my Sister out with a house and I'd give a couple of close friends a bit. Then Manny and Me would be all sorted for life, why oh why can't it happen to us???? lol

Well that's all folks, nothing else to tell, well nothing else I can tell to be honest. I'll try and keep up with this a bit more regularly but can't promise anything.

Missing you!!

Well guys I can't tell you how much I am missing you all! T, Kimi, Maya, C.J and Jenn.

Tracy has probably told you we have a ship shoppie reunion in Vegas next April so Manny and Me are saving really hard to come over for it and kill two birds with one stone and visit Tracy and all and Manny go see his Mum in Houston.

I have joined facebook and does it make you sentimental and nostalgic, I'm laughing and crying at some of the picture on there.

Okay so I'm not a fan of bikes but a girl has to have a go on a Harley round Melbourne even if it's pillion with a sidecar attached, it was such a fun day, don't think I laughed so hard about anything else!

I'm sorry to say that I have nothing to blog at the moment. Tracy knows the score with it all! lol

I am working as normal and not enjoying the weather. I bought a sun lounger for in the garden, but the way it's going I'll be using it Christmas Day! I'll take a pic and blog it for you all later.

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Mmm... like I can remember that far back, yesterday is a blurr!!! I was at home I think....No actually I was on the Sky Princess, I had just met Manny.

I wish I could plan ahead.....if I think about it.....

1. I need to change the bed


2. need to build the bathroom cupboard that's been waiting for 6 weeks


3. tidy office up (it's a mess)


4. pay some bills when I get paid tomorrow


5. oh major job to be done...put some oil in my car it's running low!
